Resin has a natural resin and synthetic resin points. Natural resins are amorphous organic substances, such as rosin, Amber and Shellac, which are derived from animal and plant secretions in nature.

Synthetic resin refers to the resin products, such as phenolic resin and polyvinyl chloride resin, which are obtained by chemical synthesis of simple organic compounds or by chemical reaction of some natural products, and synthetic resin is the main ingredient of plastics.

According to the synthesis reaction According to this method, the resin can be divided into polymers and polycondensation materials.

Poly is the polymer produced by adding polymerization, the chemical formula of the chain structure is the same as that of monomer, such as polyethylene, polystyrene, PTFE, etc.

Polycondensation is the polymer produced by condensation polymerization, the chemical formula of the structural unit differs from that of monomer, such as phenolic resin, polyester resin, polyamide resin and so on.

By molecular main chain composition

According to this method, the resins can be divided into carbon chain polymers, heterocyclic polymers and elemental organic polymers.

A carbon-chain polymer is a polymer, such as polyethylene and polystyrene, that is made up entirely of carbon atoms in the main chain.

Heterocyclic polymers are polymers consisting of two or more elements of carbon and oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur, such as Pom, polyamide, Polysulfone, polyether, etc. Elemental organic polymers are the main chain does not necessarily contain carbon atoms, mainly by silicon, oxygen, aluminum, titanium, boron, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements of the atomic composition, such as silicone.
